The Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber is excited to invite you to engage in a regional time capsule event that will celebrate the Southern Wayne County and Downriver communities and create inspirational stories for our descendants 50 years from now. As the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber prepares for its 60th year of service, and coinciding with the 100th year of our region’s largest memorial, Michigan Memorial Park, regional leaders from 21 municipalities will come together to seal a time capsule that will contain unique items from the Southern Wayne County and the Downriver region, to be opened 50 years from now!

The SWCRC is proud to invite all 21 Southern Wayne County municipalities to take part in the sealing of this remarkable 50-Year Time Capsule at Michigan Memorial Park in Huron Township. Each community has been invited to contribute items that capture what life looks like throughout our community today — the extraordinary details of 2026 that will fascinate and inspire Southern Wayne County’s residents of 2076. A special ceremony with food and beverages will be hosted to celebrate the occasion.
