The Information Center is an Inform USA-accredited nonprofit organization that connects individuals with helpful services. For nearly 50 years, we have been serving the Downriver communities and Western Wayne County. Since 1975, we have offered a community Helpline that provides free, comprehensive information and referral services to the public. This includes resources for career training and employment programs, services for older adults and people with disabilities, housing and shelter, food, utility payment assistance, healthcare, clothing and household goods, childcare, legal services, transportation, personalized help accessing public benefits, and other human services.
As a Certified Application Counselor Designated Organization (CDO) recognized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and a Navigation Partner agency with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), The Information Center offers free assistance to those seeking health insurance application and enrollment services.
