Small Business Workshop Series: Walk a Mile with Returning Citizens
Our Small Business Workshop series is designed to educate and inspire entrepreneurs and organizational leaders to create successful business endeavors.
Our March workshop is in partnership with the Michigan Department of Corrections for their Walk a Mile Mentorship program.
Learn how employers can utilize returning citizen talent to overcome the worker shortage and enhance operations. Men and women returning to our communities following incarceration face many challenges, including employment, housing, and social stigmatization. The focus of the mentoring program is to assist in their success by pairing them with peer mentors (those who have the shared experience of incarceration and reentry) and non-peer mentors (those with whom they have a shared faith, trade, veteran status, etc.). By helping returning citizens successfully reintegrate back to society and stay on the right track, you can help change lives and make our communities better places.
